Wangwu Mountain is the original place of the story of Yu Gong Removed the Mountains, which is recorded in Liezi Tangwen, a book written during the Warring States Period in China. It tells the fable story of Yu Gong's perseverance in digging mountains to open the way. In the closing speech of the Seventh National Congress of the Communist Party of China on June 11, 1945, Mao Zedong told the story of Yu Gong Removed the Mountains meaningfully, endowed this fable with new connotation and spirit of the times, and put forward the struggle declaration of "making up your mind, not afraid of sacrifice, overcoming all difficulties and striving for victory".
Yu Gong Removed the Mountains Group Sculpture is a typical platform-style building in China, surrounded by green trees and magnificent. The third-order platform of the sculpture Plaza corresponds to the meanings of "good weather", "favorable location" and "harmony with people" respectively. Facing the stone wall, there is a cursive script written by President Mao Zedong in the middle, which is simple and elegant, vigorous and powerful. On both sides are Liezi Tang Wen and Chairman Mao's speech on Yu Gong Removed the Mountains at the Second Session of the Seventh National Congress of the Communist Party of China. In the middle of the platform, the Yu Gong sculpture stands tall, struggling with the sky, the earth and people. The relief pattern of the pedestal creation myth takes "The myth of Pangu Forming the Cosmos" as the front in the southeast and "The myth of Pangu Forming the Cosmos", "Nuwa Repairs the Heavens", "Yellow Emperor worships the sky" and "Yu the Great Taming the Flood" in the clockwise direction. On each picture, there is the "Circular Mound Altar of Temple of Heaven" as a unique cultural symbol of Wangwu Mountain, which means the place where the story takes place.
