Ziwei Palace, the first of the three Taoist palaces in Wangwu Mountain, is named because of its position in the cave of Wangwu Mountain, which corresponds to the position of Ziwei Xingyuan in the center of the northern sky. It was founded by Sima Chengzhen, a rock Taoist in the second year of the Tang Dynasty (699). Ziwei Palace is located on the middle rock under the Temple of Heaven Peak, backed by Sanguanling, facing Huagai Peak, beside the abrupt road, and guarding the sacred road, so it is called "Xiongshi Town Mountain".
