Sanqing Hall is one of the main buildings of the balcony palace, also known as the Three Realms Hall of Daluo, where Sanqing Buddha is enshrined. Founded in the Tang Dynasty, the existing building is a legacy of the Ming Dynasty, and it has been preserved after many repairs. It is the largest existing palace-style ancient building of the Ming Dynasty in Henan Province. The temple is five rooms wide and four rooms deep, with 30 stone pillars supporting the roof, and the high relief on the pillars is lifelike; Four bright columns in front of the door are engraved with a rare "picture couplet" to draw a representative text, which is unique.
The upper couplet is "good weather, peaceful country and safe people". Please see, the first one is the general protector with the sun on his head and a sword in his hand. Under his command, mica cloth clouds; The lightning goddess holds the mirror one by one to form lightning; There are five drums around Thunder God, which form thunder; The rain master poured rain down with a gourd in his hand; Uncle Feng shook the tree, making the wiper open and falling into the ground evenly; After the rain cleared, a farmer wore a hat and went to hoe the ground with a hoe on his back; By sketching the image of man and God, it presents a life scene of natural changes and farmers living and working in peace and contentment.
The lower couplet is "The ocean of samsara has no shore, but turning back leads to liberation." The sea below is a sea of suffering, mainly to express that people fall into the vast sea after doing bad things, and some stubborn people struggle and are drowned alive. There are still some people who correct their mistakes and come back to be salvaged by the owner and get a new life. Two life paths, two results. Those who don't fall into the sea, accumulate virtue and do good deeds, work hard step by step, and live a happy life of the master.
The middle couplet is, "The Eight Immortals crossed the sea and showed their magical powers". The two stone pillars in the middle vividly present the classic story of "Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea" with exquisite carving skills. Each stone pillar depicts four immortals respectively, showing the wonderful scene that they fought fiercely with the Dragon King and his soldiers and finally won, flying over the sea with their unique spells.
