Carving in A Meandering Water
Time:2025-10-03  Source:王屋山景区

It is a traditional custom activity of the Han people in ancient China to make a stream of water, which later developed into an elegant thing for literati to sing poetry and wine. On the third day of March in the summer calendar, after people held the ceremony of swaddling, everyone sat on both sides of the canal, placed wine glasses on the upper stream, and whoever stopped in front of them took a drink, which meant to get rid of evil and unlucky things. He Shen, the richest man in Qianlong period, had a meandering stream at home. Wangwu Mountain Qu's water flow is shaped like a longevity word, as the saying goes: "Walking among longevity words will lead to health and longevity every year".
