After resigning from his post, he lived in seclusion in Wangwu Mountain for a long time, and his thoughts were deeply inspired by the source of water saving (Jiyuan) and the Wangmu Cave in Wangwu Mountain, from which the core viewpoints such as "Being good as water" and "The Gate of Xuanzang" in Tao Te Ching originated. Later, it was closed in Hangu and became the Tao Te Ching.
